Strategic Planning Goals

At the direction of the Maple Heights City School Board for the next four years, our strategic plan focuses on four key areas.

Academics
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Communication
Finance

Academics
High-Quality Curriculum
In alignment with the Board of Education's goals, we reviewed end-of-the-year data to identify curriculum gaps and made adjustments for the following year.

Prepared for Success
We expanded our relationship with Cuyahoga Community College, Youth Opportunities Unlimited (Y.O.U)., and the Jobs for Ohio Graduates (JOGs) program.

High-Quality Assessments & Data Analysis
Our Response To Invention (RTI) was fully operational last year. These assessments and analysis allowed us to put interventions and assessments in place for our students who may struggle in an area.

Diversity, Equity, And Inclusion
During the 2021-2022 school year, in the area of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, the Maple Heights City School District accomplished many of the goals set by our Board. We hired a student wellness coordinator who, with the help of our District and building PBIS teams, began moving Maple Heights in a more trauma-informed and restorative direction. This included revising the Student Code of Conduct. We completed an equity and curriculum audit and created plans to address the deficiencies and a commitment to transparent communication with all stakeholders.

Communications
We created departments and filled positions in communications and family engagement. We re-started the Community Connections newsletter, which expanded from four to six pages, allowing us to highlight more of what is happening in our classrooms and buildings. We also kicked off our first-ever Family and Community Summit.

Finance
The Maple Heights City School District has worked hard to be fiscally responsible and transparent with our stakeholders regarding the money they entrust to us for the education of our students. In the last 19 years, the District has not used any additional money from our community for District operations. The Maple Heights City School District has also never been in the red regarding balancing the budget and using the money given to us. We will continue to be transparent and fiscally responsible.
