Greetings ECAC Families,

Happy New Year!

We have completed the first half of the school year. Many of our students recovered credits and are now back on track with their graduating class. Speaking of graduation, we have 45 seniors in the Class of 2023. They are preparing for graduation by completing their classes, passing the RISE UP exams for industry credentials, and earning diploma seals, for college and career readiness. Please encourage your future graduates to attend school and use their time wisely. They only have three hours of in-person instruction and support.

February is the shortest month, jam-packed with wonderful activities and opportunities. We will kick off Black History Month with a field trip to the Cleveland Playhouse to see the musical North. North is a realistic fiction story about a son and his mother traveling on the underground railroad. We will also celebrate our history by attending the Annual Pathfinders program on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. The program is held on the main campus. This program celebrates people of color who graduated from Maple Heights or have impacted students in a significant way. Also, in February, we will begin our Financial Literacy series of workshops presented by Jason Lockhart, Sr., founder of Breadwinners Academy. I am excited to offer my students the opportunity to engage in hands-on interactive activities focused on building their knowledge and understanding of financial literacy. As you can see, February is a busy month for ECAC.
