Dear Maple Heights Families,
On Wednesday, November 18th the Cuyahoga County Board of Health put out an advisory recommending that students participate in remote learning for a period of about a month. While this is not an “order” from the county, it is an alert that we should be proceeding cautiously moving forward for the welfare of our students, their families and our staff.
After hearing the rationale for from the Board of Health today and reviewing the data they provided to support their advisory the Maple Heights City Schools will be making the following modifications at this time:
The small number of Pre-school, high incident special education and career tech students who have been coming into our buildings for services while we are in remote learning for this 9 weeks will now participate in remote learning beginning Tuesday November 24th through at least Friday December 18th. On Monday when our students report they will be giving either the technology or academic support needed while working remotely.
Winter athletics at all levels will not be permitted to conduct in person practice or competition after today through at least December 4th.
I apologize for any inconvenience this causes our families especially as we near the holidays, but we will continue to prioritize the safety and well being of our students as we work through this pandemic together.
Superintendent, Maple Heights City Schools
