Dr. Carmen Daniel

The Maple Heights City Schools community is pleased to announce that Dr. Carmen Daniel has been named the interim director of the Heights Career Technical Planning District (CTPD), effective August 1, 2026. The ESC Board officially approved the appointment at its meeting on July 30, 2026.

Dr. Daniel brings a wealth of experience to her new role. She has served the Heights CTPD since 2022 as the business and community engagement specialist, where she has led operational planning, compliance, and cross-district coordination of workforce development and career technical education initiatives. Previously, Dr. Daniel managed the College Now program at Heights High School from 2021 to 2022 and served as an access advisor for College Now students from 2017 to 2021.

Throughout her tenure with the Heights CTPD, Dr. Daniel has been recognized for her equity-centered approach to post-secondary planning. She has forged strong partnerships with businesses across Cleveland, providing students with valuable experiences, opportunities, and workforce connections. In recognition of her vision and impact, Dr. Daniel was named a ‘40 Under 40’ honoree by Crain’s Cleveland in 2025.

Dr. Daniel holds a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management and a master’s degree in higher education administration from Kent State University, as well as a doctorate in educational leadership from Arizona State University.
