Mustang Pride

Track & Field

The track and field team competed in the LEL Conference Championship on May 14 — and what a day it was! The boys team delivered a strong performance, earning a 2nd place overall finish, while the girls team showed incredible grit and determination, taking home 3rd place overall.

Both squads competed with heart, hustle, and pride, racking up multiple All-LEL honors along the way. Their hard work and dedication have set the tone as we head into the District Championships next week, with our sights set on the State Meet.

Congratulations to the following student-athletes for earning All-LEL honors. Their achievements are a testament to their relentless effort and commitment to excellence!

Baseball

With two victories over Shaw on 5/14 night (18-0 and 12-0) Maple Heights Baseball has secured at least a share of their first LEL title since the 1994 season.  This is a major accomplishment for our team.  The team was led by seniors Marvin Wolfe and TJ Lee.  Wolfe was 5-0 pitching in the LEL with a 2.55 ERA, 51 strikeouts and a .164 batting average against.  He also had two no-hitters in LEL play vs Warrensville and Garfield.   At the plate Wolfe hit .474 while driving in 13 runs and scoring 13 himself.  Along with 4 doubles and a grand slam against Bedford, Wolfe also stole 11 bases.  TJ Lee hit .455 in conference with 6 doubles and a home run.  Lee scored 16 runs and had 19 RBIs to go along with 13 stolen bases.  Below is a list of the varsity players, if you see any of them this week make sure to congratulate them on their first LEL title in 31 years!  Maple takes on Painesville Harvey next Thursday in the playoffs at Lake Erie College.  I would also like to thank the teachers and staff that came to support our Seniors last night for Senior Night.
