Greetings!
I would like to take the opportunity to welcome you to the 2025–2026 school year. As we move into this new year, it is my hope and desire that we will continue to work together to create a school community that promotes the academic and social growth of all students.
As we begin this new year, I encourage us all to LEVEL UP—raising the bar, striving for excellence, and working as a unified team to ensure the success of every student.
With the anticipation of a new school year, I want to invite and encourage students, parents, and staff to get excited about a new season and a fresh start. On the first day of school—August 18th for sixth grade and August 19th for 7th and 8th grade students—we will welcome new students, new staff, and our returning school family. As we begin this new chapter, we must be prepared for some changes and transitions. Yet within these changes lie great opportunities for growth, learning, and transformation—for our students and ourselves.
It is our goal to partner with parents to take a collective and community approach to helping all students reach their fullest potential. Our school day begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 2:55 p.m. Students may enter the building at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast. Students who do not eat breakfast will remain in the gymnasium until they are released to class. Milkovich provides universal feeding, so all students receive a free breakfast and lunch daily. Students arriving after 8:01 a.m. will be marked tardy.
Car riders are to be dropped off and picked up in the front of the building during arrival and dismissal. School buses will use the side parking lot for drop-off and pick-up. All students will enter through the front entrance only.
Please be mindful that we have a security protocol in place. All students and individuals entering the building must pass through this protocol, so please allow additional time for entry.
I am truly looking forward to working with each of you this school year. Together, let’s LEVEL UP—our expectations, our commitment, and our results.
Vikki Pruitte-Sorrells, Principal
