Maple Heights Baseball Makes History with First LEL Title Since 1994
Maple Heights High School varsity baseball team has secured at least a share of the Lake Erie League (LEL) title, their first since 1994, following two commanding victories over Shaw (18–0 and 12–0) last night.
The achievement reflects the incredible teamwork and leadership of our student-athletes and coaches. Seniors Marvin Wolfe and TJ Lee were standouts throughout the season:
Marvin Wolfe finished 5–0 in LEL pitching with a 2.55 ERA, 51 strikeouts, and held opposing batters to a .164 average. He threw two no-hitters (vs. Warrensville and Garfield). At the plate, Wolfe hit .474, drove in 13 runs, scored 13, hit 4 doubles, stole 11 bases, and delivered a grand slam against Bedford.
TJ Lee hit .455 in conference play with 6 doubles, 1 home run, 19 RBIs, 16 runs scored, and 13 stolen bases—an outstanding all-around performance.
Maple Heights will face Painesville Harvey next Thursday in the playoffs at Lake Erie College. Let’s continue to show our support as they carry this momentum into the postseason!

Congratulations to MHHS Coach Coward Cleveland Browns Coach of the Week
Coach Kanisha Coward's journey into flag football coaching was sparked by a single moment: attending the 2022 high school girls flag championship game. It was an eye-opening experience, as she realized that many of her own players weren't getting the opportunity to participate in a sport she loved. Motivated to create a platform for young girls in her community, Coward set out to establish a flag football program that would empower her athletes with new opportunities for growth.
"I was determined to create a program for my girls, giving them the chance to try something new and expose them to a sport I love," she recalled.
